U.S. Air Force gunner Airman 1st Class Andrew Koss checks the connection to his headset in a mine resistant ambush before a joint patrol with the U.S. Army at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, April 14. The patrol was a joint effort between U.S. Army and Air Force defenders looking for a weapons cache.
