Royal Canadian Air Force Capt. Deborah Flemming has served for eight years, and currently is the National Medical Liaison Officer at Rim of the Pacific.
"I worked an 8-4 job in the civilian world and at the young age of 42 decided to join the CAF. Prior to joining I was military wife for 23 years. I enjoy the variety of jobs and postings and get bored doing the same thing for a long period of time. As a member of the CAF I am never bored and always offered new challenges."
"It is a gift to be able to participate in RIMPAC. This experience not only brought me to Hawaii, but has provided the opportunity to meet new people from all Nations and also create new friendships and contacts within the CAF."
Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971. (Royal Canadian Army Photo By MCpl Mathieu Gaudreault/RELEASED)
