CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – North Carolina Army National Guard Pfc. Kristine Torres, a medic with C Company, 230th Brigade Support Battalion, covers a casualty after treating severe wounds during a medic combat exercise here, June 18, 2016. Torres and Spc. Christopher Calderon, of the 163rd Area Support Medical Company, ran through the scenario first to help train fellow comrades on field facility techniques. The exercise was based on extreme real-world scenarios that military health care specialists could face in a combat zone while maintaining a level head and steady hand.
