Minnesota National Guard Pvt. Ali Mohamed Dahir, a motor transport operator assigned to A Co, 134th Brigade Support Battalion, became a U.S. citizen during a naturalization ceremony June 29, 2016 at Harriet Island in Saint Paul, Minn. Pvt. Dahir of Minneapolis, Minn., came to the US at the age of 5 as a refugee from Somalia. Joining him at the ceremony were Lt. Col. Joe Sharkey, 134th Brigade Support Battalion commander, and Dahir's mother, brother, nieces, and a friend.
