Capt. Ronald Reis, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau, holds the Battle Effectiveness Award (Battle "E") during a presentation on the ship's flight deck. Nassau earned its third consecutive Battle "E" award in 2009. Nassau is the command platform for the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
