CONSTANTA, ROMANIA– Two cargo workmen guide a raised U.S. Army vehicle onto a rail car at the Port of Constanta in Romania, June 23, 2016. This vehicle is one of many being transported by train to Cincu, Romania to be used in Exercise Saber Guardian next month. The vehicles arrived in Romania on June 19 after a two-week boat journey originating in Charleston, S.C. It will take approximately two weeks to coordinate and execute the logistical requirements needed to move more than 300 vehicles from the port to Cincu, which is located approximately 300 miles to the west. Saber Guardian is a U.S. Army Europe-led exercise, in the spirit of partnership for peace. It is designed to promote regional stability and security, while strengthening partnership capacity, and fostering trust while improving interoperability between Romania, the U.S., NATO and Partnership for Peace member nations.
