Staff Sgt. Cedric Sherrod, the non-commissioned officer in charge of the Joint Expeditionary Forensic Facility Lab, from Millen Ga., fires an AK-47 into a ballistic tank April 7. The tank is used to collect rounds from a firearm in order to compare the round to one found at a crime scene. Sherrod in also the evidence custodian for the JEFF lab and is responsible for keeping track of all evidence in and out of the facility. The JEFF lab processes fingerprints, DNA and ballistic evidence to bring to prosecution in courts of law.
