160530-N-WI365-190 ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia (May 30, 2016) - U.S. Soldiers participating in Khaan Quest 2016 took a moment to commemorate Memorial Day and staged for a group photo at the Five Hills Training Area, near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, May 30, 2016. The soldiers are from various units with the majority coming from the Alaska Army National Guard. Khaan Quest is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces Зэвсэгт Хүчин, co-sponsored by United States Pacific Command, and supported by U.S. Army Pacific and United States Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s GPOI - Global Peace Operations Initiative program and will focus on training activities to enhance international interoperability, develop peacekeeping capabilities, build mil-to-mil relationships, and enhance military readiness.
