"This new facility stands as testimony to our commitment to this mission and the many dedicated men and women who serve out nation in the reserve component" said Col. Jeffery W. Davies, chief of staff for the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. The $14-million, 58,600-square-foot Armed Forces Reserve Center and its accompanying Organizational Maintenance Facility located on Fort Detrick's Area B will be the home to the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion; Alpha Company, Detachment 1, 392nd Signal Battalion; 21st and 27th Military History Detachments.
