Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Field Artillery Brigade, participates in Operation Jade Helm in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of integrated operations with conventional forces, May 2-6, 2016, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, and Camp Bullis, Texas. Soldiers with Alpha Battery, 5-3 FAR, demonstrated High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) capabilities and trained on the integration of the system with the Air Force and Special Operations Command (SOCOM). The training is integral in building partnerships with Joint Forces that explore the potential of future HIMARS Rapid Infiltration missions and increasing operational readiness.
