Commandos from the 40th Iraqi Army Brigade conduct pre-elections Combined Aerial Response Force rehearsals with advisors from 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment "Steel Tigers" at Contingency Operating Base Adder, near Nasiriyah, Iraq. Under the direction of Iraqi leaders, the C-ARF may be deployed to rural areas to bolster security presence and respond to threats. The Iraqi Security Forces are in the lead for elections security operations. The U.S. battalion is deployed from Fort Bliss, Texas with 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division to advise and assist Iraqi security forces in Dhi Qar and Muthanna provinces.
