Sgt. Christopher Beck, a crew chief for the Wyoming National Guard's Company C, 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, stands outside of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Khost province, Afghanistan, Feb. 26. Operating out of Forward Operating Base Salerno in Khost province and Forward Operating Base Orgun-E in Paktika province, the troops of Company C are responsible for providing the medical-evacuation support in a belt of land across southeastern Afghanistan that covers two and a half provinces—a little smaller than the state of Maryland.
