    A recruit of Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, conducts a smash technique during Bayonet Assault Course I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 6. Before running through the course, the recruits were given a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program class on bayonet techniques and were expected to utilize them throughout the course. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Bravo Company is scheduled to graduate June 17.
