BNS Godetia kicks off its APS West mission in Douala, Cameroon [Image 2 of 5]

Belgian navy command and logistical support ship BNS Godetia pulled into port as part of the European-led portion of Africa Partnership Station West engagement. This deployment is led by the Belgium Navy with the support of Dutch and the United States and marks the second time that APS has been executed from a non-U.S. ship. APS is an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Africa to improve maritime safety and security with African partner countries. Godetia is homeported in Zeebrugge, Belgium, and is on a regular scheduled deployment. This endeavor is being conducted in cooperation with Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa.
