U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen are taught how to execute a rear choke during a physical education class. Martial arts is one of three skills that midshipmen will learn to build close-range combative skills. The physical education department also uses boxing and wrestling to develop the concept of courage under stress in all midshipmen.
