USS BOXER, AT SEA (April 6, 2016) - U.S. Navy Corpsmen with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit hold a simulated patient on his side while Navy Lt. Christopher Maldonado, right, checks for spinal injuries during a mass casualty drill. The ship’s crew and the Sailors assigned to Marine commands work together to assess, stabilize and treat any injured persons including civilians, Marines and other Sailors in the event of multiple casualties returning to the Boxer. Drills like these challenge medical personnel to use their skills in a high-tempo environment and improve readiness across the Navy-Marine Corps team. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group/13th MEU is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility to support regional stability and security. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
