A recruit of Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, conducts a straight thrust during Bayonet Assault Course I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 6. The recruits use plastic bayonets the first time they run through the course so they can focus more on the course itself and what it entails. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Bravo Company is scheduled to graduate June 17.
