A woman is being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher after being medically evacuated from the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20). She will be treated at the Milot hospital that is being run by the Crudem foundation. Injured victims from the earthquake are being treated by as many as 70 doctors and nurses that have volunteered their time from other nongovernmental organizations. Several U.S. and international military and nongovernmental agencies are conducting humanitarian and disaster relief operations as part of Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage in and around Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Jan. 12.
