LEADVILLE, CO - Hugh W. Evans (center), a 10th Mountain Division veteran who served in WWII, along with other WWII veterans, watch the U.S. Flag as it rises from half-staff at the conclusion of a memorial ceremony honoring the division’s fallen soldiers Feb. 19, 2016 in Leadville, Colo. Evans was there to participate in the enduring and traditional “Ski-In” remembrance event. Held for the 41st time, the event honors and pays tribute to those who trained, fought, and for some, sacrificed their lives in defense of the United States and its Allied partners.
