A dark-painted military jet aircraft, identifiable as an AV-8B Harrier II, is captured mid-flight above a dramatic cloudscape. The aircraft bears the tail code 'D4' and U.S. military insignia, and appears to be engaged in aerial refueling, with a refueling boom/drogue line extending from the left side of the frame. The image is taken from the perspective of the tanker aircraft, with towering cumulus clouds visible in the background.

An AV-8B Harrier II hooks up to the fuel line of a KC-130J tanker aircraft during an aerial refueling Feb. 4, in support of Cobra Gold 2010. Cobra Gold is a regularly scheduled joint and coalition multi-national exercise hosted annually by the Kingdom of Thailand. This year marks the 29th anniversary for the exercise, which consists of a Global Peacekeeping Operations Initiative Exercise, Command Post Exercise, Humanitarian Civic Assistance projects and field training exercises.
