160324-N-YO638-048 YOKOSUKA, Japan (March 24, 2016) Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Kenneth Perez, from Turlock, Calif., performs an Eddy-current test on a jet engine trailer aboard the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). An Eddy-current test is performed to detect surface and sub-surface flaws in conductive materials. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
