160317-N-FA466-130 YOKOSUKA, Japan (March 17, 2016) Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Tyler Simons from Alvin, Texas, applies grease to a sliding padeye in the hangar bay of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Sliding padeyes are used to move supplies on and off the ship while it is underway. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
