The Color Guard of the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion 69th Infantry leads the battalion into New York City's St. Patrick’s Cathedral prior to marching in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 17, 2015. A special mass is held for the Soldiers of the 69th each year before the start of the parade. The 69thRegiment, who possesses a historical Irish-American makeup, has lead the parade since 1851.
