A soldier in camouflage uniform and black helmet is operating a mounted machine gun, with spent brass casings visibly ejecting mid-air. The scene appears to be an active firing exercise in an open, arid or coastal terrain environment. At least two other personnel in helmets are visible in the foreground and right side of the frame.

    II Marine Expeditionary Force

A Dutch Marine with Fast Raiding Intercepting Special Forces Craft troop, 32nd Raiding Company fires at onshore targets during a hot extraction, live-fire exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 10, 2015. While one boat provides covering fire, the second FRISC gets as close as possible to the beach to extract any friendlies. This exercise is unique because the Dutch Marines aren’t afforded the opportunity to conduct this exercise on their home base, so they come to Camp Lejeune every year to conduct hot extraction drills.
