Sgt. Locklear, of the 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, applies a tourniquet to a simulated casualty during the evaluation portion of the 18th Field Artillery Brigade’s Steel First Responder Program on March 3. Soldiers attending the SFRP were individually evaluated on their ability to treat specific wounds assigned to each casualty and evacuate the casualty to a waiting ambulance while reacting to direct and indirect fire.
