A self-propelled submersible (SPSS), titled “ Big Foot” is on display outside the Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF)-South, Feb. 10, 2015. The SPSS was seized, November 2006 by the crew of the U.S. Coast Guard “Steadfast” off the coast of Coasta Rica. JIATF South conducts interagency and international Detection & Monitoring operations, and facilitates the interdiction of illicit trafficking and other narco-terrorist threats in support of national and partner nation security.
