During the Medical Readiness Training Exercise 16-2, U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tyson Becker, a general surgeon, and Lt. Col. Scott Howard, an oral surgeon from Brooke Army Medical Center, lead a tracheostomy procedure on a male patient while working with Ghanaian medical students at the 37th Military Hospital on Feb. 25, Accra, Ghana. MEDRETE 16-2 is one of several mutually beneficial exercises promoting partnership and enhanced medical capacity.
