    1st Lt. Karoline Foote stirs a pot of baked beans in preparation for a ‘steel beach’ party aboard the USS Ashland (LSD 48), Feb. 28, 2016. The senior leaders aboard the ship cooked for their junior Marines and sailors. The Marines and sailors of the 31st MEU are currently embarked aboard the Navy ships of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group as part of their spring deployment to the Asia-Pacific region.
