Recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, climb an obstacle during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 23. The high obstacles of the Confidence Course force recruits face any fear of heights and gain a sense of accomplishment from completing them. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
