Abdi Robleh Doualeh sings the Djiboutian national anthem, which he composed, at the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti during the Martin Luther King celebration, Jan. 19. Doualeh was born in Ali-Sabieh, Djibouti in 1941 and composed the national anthem in 1976 in anticipation of independence day. According to Doualeh, he composed the song as a manifestation of the will of the Djiboutian people to live in a free and independent country.
