A drill instructor of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, records a recruit’s score during an initial physical fitness test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 19. There are three parts to the test: Pull-ups, a three-mile run and crunches. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate April 15.
