Sgt. Jeremiah Ortiz, an infantryman assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, slides down a rope from a tower during multinational fast rope familiarization training, Feb. 16, at Adazi Military Base, Latvia. Soldiers ran through a short obstacle course before going down the tower, preparing their bodies for necessary movements used during fast rope operations. Latvian partners participated in the training alongside American allies in preparation for an upcoming fast rope operation in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a multinational demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies
