Vice Adm. C. Forrest Faison, Navy surgeon general and chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, visits with Cmdr. Kirsten Harvison, a midwife and Capt. Rick Freedman, the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune commanding officer during a tour of the hospital, Feb. 4. Faison toured the center that tends to the medical needs of 46,000 active duty, retirees and their dependents. The surgeon general’s top priority is concerned with ensuring the medical readiness of the Navy and Marine Corps forces. “More so than ever before, it’s critical we maintain our health and readiness, today and tomorrow, so we can accomplish our naval mission,” said Faison.
