SIGONELLA, Sicily (Jan. 31, 2016) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Cole Christopher, assigned to the “Golden Eagles” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9, readies an AGM-65 Maverick, a captive air training missile, during a maverick exercise (MAVEX) on a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft at Naval Air Station Sigonella. VP-9, forward deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations and is assigned to Commander, Task Force 67, responsible for tactical control of deployed maritime patrol and reconnaissance squadrons throughout the European and African areas of responsibility.
