Private Toosaint P. Mitchell, Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, participates in a working party during the rappel tower event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 22. The recruits who part of the working party were told to line up the equipment so the others could quickly grab them before tackling the event. Mitchell is afraid of heights, but he managed to complete the event along with the other recruits. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego.
