Jolene Mancini, occupational audiologist at Naval Health Clinic Quantico, claps into the microphone of the SoundExpert LxT, a sound level meter produced by Larson Davis, to test the device's decibel-measuring abilities. Bernard Truesdale, direct sales representative for PCB Group (of which Larson Davis is a divison) demonstrated the SoundExpert at a meeting of the Hearing Conservation Task Force aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico Jan. 12. The task force is considering purchasing the device to obtain accurate measurements of the decibel levels of weapons used in training aboard Quantico.
