Boaters and fishermen are advised to use caution near the shoreline of K-2 ranges on Camp Lejeune. More than 50 signs have been placed along the banks to warn of the potential dangers of unexploded ordnance in the waters near the edge of the river. While it has been several decades since the Marine Corps used ranges that fired across the river, a survey from 2012 to 2014 showed unexploded ordnance in the river bed, said Chip Olmstead, deputy director range and training area management, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
