Members of the Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) share their culture with the residents of Camp Lemonnier. The evening consisted of a performance of swordsmanship by Japanese masters of the 450-year-old traditional school of kenjutsu, a martial art originating with Samurai of yesteryear, in which the use of classical Japanese weapons for both individual confrontations and during battlefield combat are perfected.
