PUGET SOUND, Wash. (Dec. 24, 2015) – The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Alabama (SSBN 731) transits the Hood Canal as it returns to its homeport of Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor. Alabama is one of eight ballistic-missile submarines stationed at the base, providing the survivable leg of the strategic deterrence triad for the United States.
