The image shows the interior cockpit of a vintage commercial or military aircraft, likely from the 1960s–1980s era, photographed in what appears to be a maintenance hangar. The cockpit features analog instrumentation, dual control yokes, a center throttle console, and two pilot seats upholstered in blue fabric. The aircraft appears to be decommissioned or undergoing restoration, as evidenced by exposed wiring, a red cable, and the hangar environment visible through the windshield.

Personnel with the 92nd Comptroller Squadron visited the base’s maintenance hangar complex for a tour Nov. 19, 2015, at Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash. The tour of the KC-135 Stratotanker was conducted by Lt. Col. James Dorn, 92nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander. The KC-135 provides the core aerial refueling capability for the Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 50 years. By the time the Air Force is scheduled to completely phase out the KC-135, majority of the aircraft will be over 100 years old. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Mackenzie Richardson)
