Only the bottom of the barrel and the very front of an M1A2 System Enhancement Package Version 2 Abrams tank can be seen by the glow of the blackout light system, which is used for driving during night operations training. The two glow sticks can also be seen in the upper right corner of the picture, they are attached to the antennas. What is most interesting about this photo is what appears to be a glow of a soldier’s face, wearing his helmet with a fastened chinstrap and looking forward (or down range). The soldier is not on the Abrams tank for the size of the soldier’s face is not in proportion to the size of the tank, and I was positioned close to the firing point where no soldiers would be walking around. This photo was taken during the night operations training of 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, attached to 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve at Novo Selo Training Center, Bulgaria, Nov. 17, 2015.
