Airman 1st Class Nicole P. O'Hara, Combat Convoy security forces specialist deployed to the 732 Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, at Balad Air Base, Iraq. Airman O'Hara and another team member are jointly credited with killing six of the insurgents attacking her convoy that was waiting for an improvised explosive device disposal. Her duties include operating the 50-caliber machine guns on HUMVEEs to M-1083 Medium Tactical Vehicles. OÃ?Hara is assigned to the 1st Security Forces Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, VA.
