First Sgt. Brent Pearce, of Edmond, Okla., and a member of Company E, 700th Brigade Support Battalion, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, is awarded the Army Commendation medal for his actions following a deadly accident at the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade in Stillwater, Okla., on Oct. 24. Pearce was one of 45 Soldiers given medals for taking immediate action after a woman crashed through the crowd watching the parade, killing four and injuring more than 40 others.
