151019-N-XN177-127 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 19, 2015) – The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) arrives at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka to join the Forward-Deployed Naval Forces in Japan. Benfold recently updated its air defenses to the Aegis Baseline 9 combat system. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
