Pfc. Addison Spear, an infantryman assigned to Apache Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, provides security with his M249 light machine gun as his unit's Quick Reaction Force (QRF) drives into their area of operation using M1126 Stryker Combat Vehicles during an aerial assault exercise at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, located near Rose Barracks, Germany, Oct. 13, 2015. The exercise helped Soldiers to train by being inserted into an area, by UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters belonging to the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, out of Ansbach, where they then attacked an objective. Afterwards, the troopers participated in sling load training using the same helicopters to pick up loads from their area of operations. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. William A. Tanner/released)
