A soldier in U.S. Army camouflage uniform is preparing or inspecting a small fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) mounted on a launch rail attached to a military HMMWV (Humvee). The UAV, marked with the number '2525' and red safety bands, appears to be a RQ-7 Shadow or similar tactical drone system. The scene takes place on or near a tarmac/airfield area during daylight hours.

Spc. Kyle Smith, an unmanned aircraft systems repairer with Company D, 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, conducts a final walk-around inspection prior to launching the RQ7-B Shadow UAS Sept. 30 at Fort Riley, Kan. This was a total team effort within the division and Fort Riley, involving both civilian and military personnel who helped build the corridor.
