U.S. Marine Corps Col. David Odom and Sgt. Maj. Mario Fields present Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals to U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, Oct. 6 at Robertson Barracks, Palmerston, Australia. The Marines receiving the awards earned them by taking initiative and excelling above and beyond what is required of them in a normal work environment. This deployment demonstrates how the MRF-D Marine Air-Ground Task Force is equipped with great leaders and is organized to carry out national objectives in cooperation with our international partners.
