U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Matt Shibata, bottom, does buddy squats with Republic of Korea Marine Lance Cpl. The U.S. Marines lead a physical training session and taught the ROK Marines new styles to add to their own PT. KMEP 15-12 is a bilateral training exercise that enhances the ROK and U.S. alliance, promotes stability on the Korean Peninsula and strengthens ROK and U.S. military capabilities and interoperability. Shibata, from Honolulu, Hawaii, is a platoon commander with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF, under the unit deployment program.
