A memorial stone sits near the location of the crash site of 2nd Lt. Priesley Cooper Jr., who was killed in action during a strafing run in World War II, Sept. 25, 2015, at Dietingen, Germany. Seventy years after the crash the townspeople of Dietingen gathered to honor the pilot and return a flight cap to his relatives. Dietingen and members of U.S. Air Forces in Europe worked side by side to locate the crash site and relatives of the pilot culminating in the Sept. 25 ceremony. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
