Coast Guard medevacs cruise ship passenger 115 miles southwest of San Diego [Image 3 of 4]
The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 78-year-old man from a cruise ship approximately 115 miles southwest of San Diego, Oct. 2, 2015. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego received a report from the crew of the cruise ship Ruby Princess that the passenger was experiencing symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding. A Sector MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was launched, arrived on scene, then safely hoisted the man, and transferred him to local EMS. (U.S. Coast Guard photo/Petty Officer 1st Class Rob Simpson)
